Licking the Bean

I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon with my friends, Stephanie & Leah and add my little "GROSS" moment---actually Drew's gross moment. When we were in Chicago this past May, we visited "the Bean." And being the complete boy that he is, Drew had to leave his mark. You may not be able to tell, but he runs up to the bean and LICKS IT!!!!!! Too gross to think about for very long---all those handprints----YUCK!!! (for an extra special treat, you get to hear my sister--Megan's---incredible laugh!! love ya, sis!!)

Boy Stuff

ENJOY the rest of the videos I happened upon while looking through my Chicago files...that are 5 months old!

1. Getting ALL the Cousins to Smile for the camera AT the same time takes a combination of mommies, grandmas & aunts!!!

2. We were able to visit with our friends Scott Logan & Brion Yarnell. Brion just happened to be visiting Scott while we were also in Chicago (thus killing two birds with one stone...ha!ha!). Here is Scott, giving Drew his first singing lesson on Vibrato!

3. This was one of Jack's first "tastes" of human food! (back in the day before he ate) It is a Mexican Churro (I think...a pastry stick covered with cinnamon sugar) This cracked us up because he looks like a little puppy dog!!!

***special thanks to Beth's technical support in helping me figure out how to link!

The Cutest 4-Eyes in the World!!!

Upon our last doctor's visit, they retested Drew's eyes since he didn't do so hot on his eye exam back at his 3 year appt. He showed no progress so they made an appointment for him to be seen by the eye doctor. Well, he found that Drew has an astigmatism in his left eye. That basically means the pupil is shaped more like a football than completely round. So the plan is to try glasses for the next 6 weeks and the dr. will re-examine the eye to see if the glasses are helping. Please pray they will otherwise we'll have to move to something a bit more aggressive like a patch or drops. (and for the record, it took 3 of us to hold him down at the office when they needed to dilate his eyes...no more drops, please!!) So we are all learning some new levels of responsibility and care, which is never a bad thing!! He even picked out a cool Superman case that he absolutely loves!! Anything to make it exciting, right!
I have to admit, when we walked out of the office a few weeks ago holding the perscription in my hand I wanted to cry. I felt so bad for our Drew. First being sick soooo much and now this on top of it! But I told Drew that God created him perfectly for the plan that He has for his life and this is part of it. He basically thinks it's cool because he has glasses like Clark Kent, and "of course, Uncle Brian!!!!!" to quote him!!!
So, on to a new adventure in life, waiting for the next. Which is coming by way of our basement!!! The crew was here Th. & Fri. and almost all the walls and doors are up. Looks like they are going to finish up on Mon. and then the last phase until completion!!! We are SO EXCITED!!!! The Lord is good! Have a GREAT weekend, everybody!!!
