Easter Apparel

Since Drew was sick, we didn't make it to church for Easter Sunday. So the boys were a week late in sporting their outfits. It was after church when I decided to take their pictures & I was pushing them to their limits by adding a quick photo op. Let's just say at this point there wasn't much attention span to work with! Nonetheless, I am grateful for the delete button on the camera. [one of these posts, I am going to post something completely un-edited! I might just post every picture of the event~good & bad! :) ]

I think it was at this point I knew they had had enough. Drew was tapping Jack's head saying, "Pat, pat, pat, pat..." He was definitely beyond his limit! Thankfully, Jack is already a good sport & LOVES his big brother!

Celestial Home

[allison & her mom]
"Precious in the sight of the LORD
is the death of his saints."
Psalm 115:16

I would just like to "dedicate" this to our dear family friends, the Holmes'. Mrs. Corrine Holmes went home to be with the Lord this morning. After conquering breast cancer a few years ago, recently more tumors showed up in her brain, to an unoperable point. She fought this battle sweetly, showing kindness to those that came to visit her, strength in her weekly dr. visits and painful symptoms from treatments. She touched everyone in such a special way. Her outgoing personality and hilarious stories drew everyone to her "southern belle" sweetness. You always knew when Mrs. Holmes was in the room, because you could hear her contagious laugh from anywhere you stood! She gave so much to her family and those around her. She will be so, so dearly missed. My heart bleeds for my friends, Allison & Julie, her two daughters and cries for her husband, the dear Mr. Holmes. But we know she awoke to GLORY this morning. She is in wonderful hands! You are uplifted in our prayers today and throughout this difficult time. We love you all so much!

YOU'RE INVITED

We'd love for you to come visit a new blog just started by me & two of my dear friends, Stephanie & Leah. It is in its infancy! So don't give up if there isn't much on it yet...it will come in time! I did just post an Easter idea (Resurrection Eggs) that I made.

The purpose for this new blog is to keep each other encouraged in our spiritual walk & calling, specifically motherhood. We look forward to your comments as well!

You can visit A SLICE OF LIFE at www.asliceoflife3.blogspot.com

See you there!

IDEAL BLOX

Looking for some entertainment for your children---other than a DVD??? I HIGHLY recommend this toy, called IDEAL BLOX. It is something we have had for only a few months and it is by far one of "our" favorite toys! We found this at the Big E, where many vendors try to sell their product. Many seem hokey, but this one was a WINNER! These lightweight, hollow shapes are really fun and challenging at the same time. Drew first played with a set at a friends house when he was about 2 years old and I was amazed at how long it captivated his attention! It is a great manipulative learning tool and the possiblities are endless! This toy is great because it doesn't frustrate someone as young as Drew (or younger) and is still challenging for adults! It comes with a poster of tons of different shapes to make! It cost $20.00 and has been well worth it. We plan to keep it around for ALL the kids to play with! (us included!) Check out www.solutionideale.com if you are interested!

(side note: it does say x for ages 0-3. this is probably due to the size of the smallest piece(the white ones). but I feel it would not be a choking hazard h if there was proper supervision!)

p.s. that was really for the YgrandmothersY out there! :)

This is what the box looks like:

All of the pieces fit neatly together into a pyramid shape, held together in a plastic stand which fits back into the box:

The 15 pieces (whew...we still have all of them!):
