Personality Dialysis

I feel like I just cracked open a fortune cookie.
Interesting, yet vague for the general blogging population.
Yet somehow it made me feel good about myself while nodding my head thinking, "That's really cool! I guess that could really be me."
Thanks, Loraena, for the link.

I dare you ALL to try it!
Let me know if you do so I can check out your results!

I Didn't Forget...Just Now Getting To It!!

8 RANDOM THINGS
about myself:
h I , C Y e r ]
1. I LOVE TO BAKE: I have always "dreamed" about working in a cute little bakery next to a flower shop. My favorite thing to "perfect" is the chocolate cake (and always john's choice of b.day cake!)
2. I LOVE TO GARDEN: I inherited this from my mother, although my thumb is quite a bit less green than hers. But, alas, I CANNOT keep indoor plants alive! I have killed nearly every single one.
3. My dad sang the National Anthem at a Chicago Cubs game in 1984. I was only 5 years old and it is still one of my most favorite memories.
4. One of the dumbest things I did (to date) was in high school. Myself & a couple of friends [that will remain annonymous] climbed up into the girls locker room ceiling to explore. This started out quite innocently. The funny thing is we probably would have gotten away with it until I stepped over something and my foot came down & continued right through the "floor" which was really the ceiling. Upon looking through the hole we realized it was the boys locker room ceiling we were above. Yeah...try explaining that one to your dad.
5. While on our senior trip in Europe we visited the Neuschwanstein castle, the one that Disney was created after. By the castle there is a really cool little river. Some of us walked down to it & were wading in it and I (of course) lost my balance and fell right into the river!
6. My first college/off-campus date with John ended me up in the ER. Yes, to that point in my life I had never broken a bone nor been in the ER! We went horse back riding at someone's farm and when we came to a field, my horse thought he was in a movie and took off with all of his might. I held on for dear life until the horse brushed me off his back by galloping under a low tree. I had a branch sticking out of my face very close to my eye and 2 dislocated/broken fingers. It was quite amazing. I have not been on a horse since. I'm not sure that it's a fear factor thing, but I certainly haven't gone out of my way to plan a day of horse back riding!
7. I am not a huge fan of heights. But on our honeymoon to the Grand Caymen Island (awesome place) John & I went parasailing. It was pretty cool!
8. I have never gotten a speeding ticket! (have only been pulled over twice for some random reason--like no left headlight--for which I was "let go")

(unfortunately I didn't get any 'people' pictures)

This is our newly renovated sanctuary! Even though we have faced many frustrations through the reconstruction of this old, OLD building the Lord has been soooo good and it has really come a long way! [newly finished floor, new pew chairs, new light fixtures, drop ceiling & paint job]

A STEP BACK IN TIME

HAVING SOME FUN WITH FILTERS...

HOW I LOVE IT IN THE GOOD OL' SUMMERTIME...

We just recently returned from the 3rd major event in the past two months. It has been busy, but lots of fun filled with memories to behold. Thankfully, the boys are both at great ages to be able to pick up & go. Last week the boys, myself & john's parents (John could not get off work) took a trip down to Atlantic City (area), NJ. This is where John's mom grew up. We stayed with her parents, attended John's cousin's high school graduation and of course hit the ocean as many times as we could. John's grandparents live on Ventnor Ave (2 blocks from the ocean). If any of you are familiar with Monopoly, yes, it is THAT Ventnor Ave. All the roads around them coorespond to the Monopoly board. The house where the inventor of Monopoly lives is not too far from them. Also, the real estate is just amazing!!! John's grandparents' neighbors had their nice little home up for sale, asking $600,000!!!! It was not all that much bigger than our home!!! Yikes!! It was a blessing we were even able to make the trip because Drew had gotten pretty sick the week before. But the Lord was good and healed him quickly to be ok for the trip. I even got a whole hour to myself on the beach one afternoon when both the boys were napping! I could definitely use one of these by our house!!! There is something soothing about the ocean waves lapping up on the shore.

THE BEACH

This is the result of our (really, my) digging for about 2 hours.
That and my sunburned back!!! It started out as a bridge, then became a tunnel and then drew decided it would be a good seat for him to watch the surfers from.

in full BLOOM

my very own P E O N Y
Upon moving into our home, I inherited a most lovely flower. It came not by way of most inheritances but rather left behind from years of green-thumb care. It was a mere 6 months before it revealed itself; we moved into this house in the fall and the buds didn't appear till late spring. It was love at first sight. Once I beheld its beauty firsthanded, I knew it was one of the most lovely things I could own. Whenever it is in full bloom, I always say to myself, "If we ever move, I am digging that up and taking it with us." But I may keep the legacy going and pass it on. Thankfully, I can just breathe in its beauty, and for now call it my own.

I have about 15 blooms this year. In the past I have had up to 25 blooms!
